Bethel Mourns George Floyd

Hundreds came out on Tuesday to protest the killing — and honor the lives — of George Floyd and other black people killed this month. Organized in just 24 hours by Babes Bar and Hustle & Loyalty Records in Bethel, the event brought people together to honor and say the names of those killed, share flowers and candles, and stand in solidarity alongside black and brown neighbors in Bethel, Vermont, and beyond. While most of the country’s eyes are on major urban protests this week, national news highlighted the importance of small town protests in Bethel and across the nation.

Watch the event videos below, if you missed it. The memorial remains outside Babes Bar and all are invited to pay respects. All are also invited to join a march on Saturday, June 13 from the Bandshell to downtown.
