Friday Night Lights & “Bright Ideas” Open House

The lights are on and Bethel is hopping this holiday season! Come downtown on Friday, December 9 for Bethel for All’s “Bright Ideas Open House” at Town Hall and holiday shopping all over town. 

We’ll be unveiling the draft “bright ideas” and streetscape designs for the village accessibility plan. See the proposed plans, share your ideas, and vote for your favorites.

Then head out on the town and shop the local businesses and holiday markets, enjoy great food and drink, stroll downtown and check out the holiday lights. As a bonus, you can earn $5 free “Bethel Bucks” and enter a raffle for downtown gift cards and prizes just for participating, volunteering, shopping, eating and exploring!

Drop in and see the “unveiling” of Bethel for All’s draft village accessibility plan and priority projects including streetscape projects, parks and trails improvements and economic development ideas.

  • Explore draft Bethel for All streetscape designs and “big ideas” and vote for your favorites

  • FREE! Hot cocoa bar and cookies by White River Valley Middle School

  • Community + School connections and volunteer opportunities

  • Reflective bike and walking gear giveaways by Safe Streets Vermont

  • Luminaria light display by Bethel One Planet after school program

Friday Night Lights in Downtown Bethel

Shop, eat, stroll and explore your way around town. Enjoy the holiday lights, connect with local businesses and volunteer projects, and help support our local economy.

  • Arnold Block Holiday Market (4-7 PM) — locally made arts and crafts by artisans and vendors

  • Babes Bar (2 PM - 12 AM) — cocktails and brews, Chicago-style hot dogs, popcorn and more. Show your Bethel Bucks punch card for 1/2 off an alcoholic drink or a free soda or cider.

  • Bethel Central Market (7 AM - 8 PM) - grab food and treats, deli items and baked goods

  • Bethel Energy Committee Open House (4-7 PM, Town Hall) — energy savings displays, info and giveaways

  • Bethel Historical Society Museum (4-7 PM, Town Hall) — explore the museum; sign the guestbook to enter a special prize drawing

  • Bethel Village Sandwich Shop & Third Branch Wines (5-7 PM) — special wine tasting ($20 per person); shop for a variety of beer, wine, cider and gift items

  • Blossom Block Holiday Market (4-6 PM) — locally made arts and crafts by artisans and vendors

  • Champlain Farms (6 AM - 12 AM) — gas, goodies, provisions, and fresh-made food items

  • Day Breaks Glass Studio (10 AM - 6 PM) — stained glass and mosaic artwork and supplies; local artists gallery and classes

  • HailBrook’s Broken Stove Bakery (4-7 PM) — soup & a roll dinner special (vegetable, chili, and corn chowder); baked goods, coffee, and sweet treats

  • Project Happy Holidays (3-5 PM, White Church) — volunteering and decorating help needed; gift and food pickup Saturday, December 10
