Rindge Hill (Quimby) Town Forest
Rindge Hill Town Forest (or Quimby Lot) is a 160-acre forest near Lilliesville. The Town of Bethel acquired the lot from Mary Quimby on January 1, 1934. The property was approved by the State of Vermont as a Town Forest on September 30, 1957. It has unofficial paths and trails but no improvements. It’s open for hiking, walking, foraging and hunting.
The forest is located on Woodland Road, where it intersects with Rindge Hill Road and Town Highway 122. These sections are class 4 town roads, which are not maintained for passenger car. You’ll need to hike or bike in for the last stretch, or use a vehicle intended for back road travel.
Address: Approx. 2000 Woodland Road. Note: do not try to drive all the way in with a passenger car. High-clearance vehicles like jeeps, pickup trucks or ATVs may navigate the road). Passenger cars should park where the regular dirt roads end and walk or bike the rest of the way (less than a mile from either end).
