Interested in improving safe walking and biking options in the village? We’re hosting a set of “walk audits” in Bethel to gather data and develop ideas, and we’re looking for volunteer leaders. Join us for this short, fun training and come help out!
This event is geared toward training walk audit leaders for Bethel, but it’s open to people from any community. Join us if you’d like to help improve walkability here or in your own town.
This training is free and open to all, but registration is required.
Agenda:
Training (4-5 PM) and Optional Mini Walk Audit (5-5:30)
We’ll start indoors for an overview of walk audits and how to lead them. Kelly Stoddard-Poor of AARP Vermont will share AARP’s newly-revised walk audit toolkit and go over how to successfully lead a group walk and collect data. At the end of the training, all are invited to head outdoors for a short walk around Bethel to try out the kit and process.
Location: TBD (in-person), Bethel, Vermont
Incentive: Bethel walk audit leaders are eligible to earn "hours" in the White River Time Exchange for volunteering. By participating, you can bank time and then use it to get help from any other time bank member. Need help with babysitting, errands, yard work, editing or something else? This is a great way to get it!
Host: Bethel for All. This event is organized by Bethel for All —a community-driven planning process making Bethel, Vermont a more connected, vibrant, welcoming and accessible place for all. Bethel for All is a Vermont Better Connections project. bethelforall.org
